Register of Electors

How to keep your details up to date

Your name must be on the Register of Electors to vote at elections - local, Parliamentary and European. Not being included on the Register of Electors can also affect your credit rating.

It is your responsibility to check you are included on the register and copies are available in libraries or at the offices of North West Leicestershire District Council in Coalville.

To help keep the register up to date, North West Leicestershire District Council sends out a form each year to all residents for them to fill in and return before 15th October.

However, names can now be added throughout the year, for example when you have moved home or turned 18 years old. All you have to do is fill in a voter registration form and sign it yourself.

When you send us the form we will add you to a list of applications and providing there are no objections we can change your details within two to six weeks. We will write to you to say if your application has been allowed or not.

If your application is during an election period special rules apply, so please contact the Electoral Registration Section for details.
