Increasing footfall. Increasing repeat visits from customers. Increasing how much they spend. These are the three aims of the Town Centre Business Booster Workshop being held in Coalville on Wednesday 1 March.
Retail guru Corin Birchall, who has worked with some of the world’s most successful retailers, will give town centre business owners practical tips and tricks on how to boost their business. Participants will also get advice from a specialist business advisor from the LLEP Business Gateway.
The event, which is being organised by North West Leicestershire District Council with support from the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) Business Gateway and the European Regional Development Fund, will take place from 5.30pm – 8.30pm at Heartwood Conferencing in Coalville.
It is open to businesses in Coalville, Ashby de la Zouch, Ibstock, Castle Donington, Measham and Kegworth.
Twenty-six participants are already signed up to the event, which has a limited number of places, so businesses are encouraged to register soon or call 01530 454678. Further sessions will be arranged if there is additional demand.
Councillor Tony Gillard, Portfolio Holder for Business at North West Leicestershire District Council, said: “We’re focussing our efforts on supporting town centre businesses in the district, particularly smaller, independent retailers and business owners. This workshop is designed to provide practical advice about how to increase footfall and ultimately the amount spent in these local shops, bars and restaurants, and I hope as many as possible will come along and benefit from the event.”
Mandy McIntosh, from fair2all in Ashby, attended a Business Booster Workshops in 2010 and 2011. She said: “Corin's workshop is the most helpful and relevant course I have attended. It was really encouraging and enabling. It’s well worth attending as his enthusiasm will inspire you, whether you are a new business owner or have been in retail for many years.”
