Organised by North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC), the events are an opportunity for people young and old to relax and to be entertained by a variety of performances and activities.

Proms in the Park, which takes place between 6pm and 9.30pm on Saturday 24 June, will see the likes of Justice Beach, Concordia Choir and The Ockbrook Big Band take to the stage.

There will also be food and drink to purchase throughout the night.

Picnic in the Park takes place the following afternoon between noon and 5.30pm on Sunday 25 June, with a variety of music and entertainment.

The main stage line-up includes Leicestershire Co-op Band, Belvoirdale Primary School choir, The Tin Pigeons, Take This and Beneath the Lights.

The day will also double up as one of NWLDC’s District Days, giving the opportunity for residents to direct questions and queries to council representatives, receive a free health check, and find out more about what is happening around the district.

Wendy May, Cultural Services Team Manager at NWLDC, said: “Proms in the Park and

Picnic in the Park 2016 3

Picnic in the Park have become very popular fixtures in the district’s calendar, and we are delighted that we will be hosting both again this summer.

“We are proud that entry to both events will once again be free and encourage everyone to come and relax, listen and enjoy themselves.

“There will be some real talent on stage over the weekend and a mix of entertainment to suit all tastes. So bring a picnic and something to sit on and enjoy what both events have to offer.”

Both Proms and Picnic in the Park are free and take place in Coalville Park off London Road, Coalville.
