Fill in the on-line form with the required information and select the 'calculate' button at the end. Your estimated Housing Benefit or Local Housing Allowance and Council Tax benefit will then be displayed.

This calculation is an estimate only, based on the information that you give. It is a rough guide only and not an official claim, notification or guarantee of Housing Benefit, Local Housing Allowance or Council Tax benefit.

For a full assessment, please make a claim by completing a claim form as soon as possible. Forms are available from the Benefits Team or to download.

The on-line calculator is easy to use, but before you start, please make sure that you have the following information ready:

• Details of your income - for example, wage slips or any benefits or pensions that you receive
• Details of any bank or savings accounts or other investments
• The amount of your weekly or monthly rent and Local Housing Allowance, if appropriate
• The amount of Council Tax that you pay in the current financial year

If the calculator will not let you answer a question, this may be because of answers you have already given. For example, if you have said that you are a couple, you cannot be a single parent. If you think that you should be answering a question that is locked, please check your previous answers.
