Collection Information
Collection Times
- Tuesday - Friday - 6am until 6pm
Please ensure that your bin is presented for collection by 6am, it may be appropriate to put the bin out for collection the night before. Our crews work a four day week from Tuesday - Friday, this means that whilst still working a full weeks worth of hours we avoid disruptions to collections due to bank holidays.
Presentation
Householders are asked to wheel their bins, boxes and bags to the boundary of their property with the public road for collection nearest to the point where the collection vehicle stops. Between collections the bin must be removed as soon as possible after collection for safe keeping and to avoid creating an obstruction. The bin remains the property of the council at all times, however residents are responsible for the up-keep and safe keeping of their bin. In this respect a charge may be incurred for replacement of lost or damaged bins.
Disabled, elderly or other immobilised residents who are unable to move the bin can arrange for the bin to be collected from their property by contacting the Refuse Section, please see the section on assisted collection service for more details.
Service Changes
As our crews work Tuesdays to Fridays there are no disruptions to the service due to bank holiday Mondays. The crews work Good Fridays so there is no disruption at Easter. The collection service will only be disrupted at Christmas. Residents are notified of special collection arrangements for holidays via collection calendars or by notice. Details will also be published on this website and where possible in the local press.
