2011/12 Council Tax Charges

The document below gives details of the Council Tax charges by area and valuation band for the 2011 / 12 financial year.

Please note: For the second year running there will be a 0% increase in the District Council's element of the charge. The County Council, the Police Authority and the Combined Fire Authority have also frozen their charges in 2011/12 and set a 0% increase.

Your Council Tax bill explained.

Your total Council Tax bill is made up of charges from North West Leicestershire District Council, Parish Precepts and Special Expenses, Leicestershire County Council, the Combined Fire Authority and Leicestershire Police Authority.

For example, for a Band D property in Ashby, the overall charge for 2011-2012 is £1,514.63.

This is split between:

Leicestershire County Council £1063.00
North West Leicestershire District Council £158.58
Leicestershire Police £169.63
Combined Fire Authority £53.38
Ashby Town Council £70.04

The figure for town and parish councils will vary in other areas of the district. You will have on your bill a charge from your town or parish council, or special expenses in Coalville.
