Property Valuation Bands for Council Tax
Most homes are subject to Council Tax. Each has been allocated to one of eight bands based on the capital value of the property on 1st April 1991.
All properties are valued as at this date and not present day values to ensure equality between properties. The Valuation Bands are as follows:

| A | Up to and including £40,000 |
| B | £40,001 - £52,000 |
| C | £52,001 - £68,000 |
| D | £68,001 - £88,000 |
| E | £88,001 - £120,000 |
| F | £120,001 - £160,000 |
| G | £160,001 - £320,000 |
| H | More than £320,000 |
The actual amount of Council Tax payable varies according to the Valuation Band.

Making an appeal does not allow you to withhold payments due. If an appeal is successful you will be entitled to a refund if an overpayment has occured.
