Fundemental Changes to H C and P H Legislation

The Transport Select Committee at the Hoses of Parliament have decided to refer all hackney carriage and private hire legislation to the Law Commission for review. In turn the Law Commission have included the review in their current work plan. Their web site states that they will conduct their review which will result in a consultation starting in the Summer of 2012 and proposed new legislation being put before Parliament in 2014.

This means that the taxi and private hire industry will be governed by totally new and up to date legislation be the end of the decade.
