Street Parties - Diamond Jubilee 2012
June 4th and 5th
To mark the Diamond Jubilee of the Queen’s reign a special Bank Holiday has been announced. This has been added to the late Spring Bank Holiday to create a special long weekend including the Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday the 3rd of June.
If you wish to celebrate with a Street Party the Government have again asked councils to make this process as easy as possible with no fees.
When planning an event which involves Temporary Road Closures you are required to seek approval from either North West Leicestershire District Council or Leicestershire County Council depending on the type of closure required.
North West Leicestershire District Council can make temporary road closure orders under section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847. This Act allows the Council to grant an Order authorising the closures on minor residential roads for events.
