The final report can be downloaded from the LLEP website below.

Town Centre Wi-Fi

Free wifi has been available in the town centres of Ashby and Coalville since September 2018.

We funded the instalment of free access for businesses, residents and visitors to these town centres for three years as part of work to enhance the high street. The wifi was provided by InTechnology Smart Cities Limited.

In June 2021, InTechnology changed their name to WeLink Communications (UK) Ltd and the contract to provide free to access wifi was extended to provide wifi in both towns for a further two years until September 2023.

Unfortunatley, on 9 August 2023 we were told by WeLink that they plan to switch off the wifi from 12 September 2023 as part of changes to their business.
