Prospective candidates who are thinking of standing in North West Leicestershire in the Leicestershire County Council elections on Thursday 4 May are being offered advice and support throughout the process from the district council.

Nominations for candidates can be submitted from Thursday 23 March and the Elections Team at North West Leicestershire District Council is on hand to offer advice about the process to anyone who wants to stand in the district. The deadline for nominations is 4pm on Tuesday 4 April.

For anyone who would like advice on nominating candidates, the council’s Elections Team is holding a drop in session on Wednesday 22 March from 4pm to 7pm at the Council Offices in Coalville.

Christine Fisher, Chief Executive and Returning Officer for North West Leicestershire District Council, said: “Our team manages the election in North West Leicestershire and is available to offer support and guidance for anyone who is thinking of standing for election to Leicestershire County Council in this part of the county.

“People who are standing for the first time, or who aren’t affiliated with a political party may need more support than others, so I would encourage you to get in touch as soon as possible to get advice on the nomination and election process.”

Nomination packs and further information are available from the elections office on 01530 454512 or electreg@nwleicestershire.gov.uk
