More than 500 runners will line-up for the second ever Coalville Colour Run on Sunday – including a team from the proud main sponsors North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC).
Twenty members of council staff, along with their families, will form ‘Team NWLDC’ to support Living Without Abuse – the Leicestershire-based charity that organises and benefits from the event.
The race begins at 10.30am on Sunday (17 September) and will end with a free party in Coalville Park for local people and participants.
Councillor Alison Smith MBE, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Community Services at North West Leicestershire District Council, said: “We are incredibly proud to be the main sponsor for the Coalville Colour Run and are delighted to see that even more people are taking part this year.
“Having Coalville filled with colour and hundreds of runners is great for the town, and we know Sunday’s run will be even better that last year.
“Good luck to everyone taking part – including all in Team NWLDC – have a great time and enjoy the day.”
There is still time to register before the deadline at midnight on Thursday (14 September). Just head to www.giving-back.co.uk/coalville-colour-run.asp
The Colour Run is an approximately 5km course that will take place in and around the centre of Coalville, starting at the Market Hall car park , running alongside the precinct, over to Coalville Town Football Club, taking in Snibston Country Park and the Coalville Forest Adventure Park, passing Memorial Square and finishing in Coalville Park.
Colour stations dotted around the route will blast runners with colour. Everyone (including those who haven’t done the run) is then invited to a finish line paint party in Coalville Park, including live music, various local business stalls, and food.
Living Without Abuse is also looking for handful more volunteers to help marshal the race. To offer your help please email email@example.com
