A Queen tribute act, Black Eagles acrobats and a giant, inflatable, story-telling whale headline Coalville’s Music and Picnic in the Park this summer.
Families in the town will enjoy live music, children’s rides and entertainment as the annual Music and Picnic in the Park festivities return for the 20th year.
Organised by North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC), Music and Picnic in the Park will take place over the weekend of Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June in Coalville Park.
This is followed by Picnic in the Park between noon and 5.30pm on Sunday 23 June, also in Coalville Park.
Highlights on stage include the Queen II tribute band, Bel Canto Youth Choir, The Street, Coalville Musical Theatre School and Leicestershire Co-op Brass Band.
Picnic in the Park also features lots of stalls, attractions and family entertainment including the Black Eagles acrobats. Children will be also able to step inside a huge 18-metre inflatable whale to watch animated performances.
Food and drink will be available to purchase at both events and people are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy.
Councillor Andrew Woodman, Portfolio Holder for Community Services at NWLDC, said: “This is the 20th year we’ve organised Music and Picnic in the Park, and both offer great family fun.
“We have lots of talent lined up to perform so bring your family, friends, chairs and picnics to Coalville and enjoy the weekend. Best of all it’s completely free to attend!”
Visitors to either event are asked to prepare for the weather conditions and bring something to sit on.
