Assistive technology (AT) dementia pilot project

Published: Wed 10 March, 2021

There’s still time to take part in the AT dementia pilot project aimed at people with dementia who live on their own in Charnwood; North West Leicestershire; Hinckley and Bosworth, Blaby; Oadby and Wigston areas. The project is a partnership between Leicestershire County Council and the five District and Borough Councils.

The project still has places available for people with dementia who live alone in their own home (not a Care Home) along with a family member, friend or carer who is willing to support them by using an App on their smartphone or tablet to trial a home monitoring system for the next few months

The project is testing out new technology that monitors an individual’s activity and daily routine in the home using sensors, smart plugs and sleep sensors and then shares this information with a selected family member/friend via the App, showing them a timeline of activity and raising alerts.

Please email mysense@leics.gov.uk before 9 April for more details on how to take part
