As we approach Autumn, this annual event in Ashby-de-la-Zouch opens on Friday 17 September bringing some colour and excitement to the town. From waltzers to dodgems, from hook a duck to darts, there is something for everyone, including some very old attractions and some bright, modern and scary ones!
Last year, Ashby Statutes Fair was cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions and organisers, Pat Collins Funfair, North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) and Ashby-de-la-Zouch Town Council took the decision to prioritise public safety.
Pat Collins Limited has been working with the Safety Advisory Group which includes Public Health England to ensure that the event is delivered in a Covid-safe way.
Additional measures have been put in place including a pre-order token system to reduce the need for social contact. Tokens can be purchased at www.theticketfactory.com/tickets/events/pat-collins-funfairs/
Councillor Tony Gillard, Portfolio Holder for Business and Regeneration at NWLDC, said: “The Statutes Fair is a popular event and I’m sure many, like me, will be pleased to see it return to Ashby-de-la-Zouch after the necessary decision was taken to cancel the event last year.
“Pat Collins Limited has worked hard to deliver the fair in a Covid-safe way with measures in place to keep the spread of COVID-19 to a minimum.
“If you’re visiting the fair this year, please remember to enjoy it safely and follow the guidance to keep yourselves and others safe.”
