Businesses in Coalville are being encouraged to decorate shop windows red, white and blue to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.
North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) has launched its King’s Coronation Best Dressed Window Competition and is asking businesses if they would like to take part.
To enter, shops, pubs and venues will need to confirm they are entering the competition by Monday 24 April by sending their business name, location, and contact details to events@nwleicestershire.gov.uk
Windows should be ready for Sunday 30 April when the public vote will open. Shoppers and visitors will be able to vote for their favourites in person at the Customer Centre on Belvoir Road or online at www.nwleics.gov.uk/coronation
Winners will be announced week commencing 15 May.
Paul Wheatley, Head of Economic Regeneration at NWLDC, said: “To mark the King’s Coronation, we’re asking businesses to help us decorate Coalville town centre with a royal theme.
“The aim is to make our main towns as vibrant and welcoming as possible to mark the occasion and make it an event to remember.
“We look forward to seeing all the decorated windows decked out in patriotic colours and hope to see lots of support for businesses.”
