Leicestershire Construction Skills Hub
The Employment Hub has launched the Leicestershire Construction Skills Hub where all candidates wanting to start a career in construction will participate in a 3 week entry programme into the sector.
The three weeks involve employability, CSCS training, including awareness courses specifically related to the Construction Industry. Upon successful completion of weeks 1 and 2, week 3 will be a work trial, with a Construction Employer, on a live construction site.
The programme is actively accepting ex-offender referrals, please note participants must be unemployed, 16+ and seeking employment. For clients from this group wishing to undergo a career in construction, please see the attached flyer and make contact with Graham.

Go Learn! Learning and Work Facebook Questions and Answers Events
Looking to find your next steps in learning or work but not sure where to start?
Our GoLearn Learning and Work Advisors will be available on Facebook during March and April to answer any questions you may have on education and training opportunities, job hunting, careers, CV writing, interview skills and more! Questions can be asked by posting a comment in the Discussion of each event where the team will reply with their answers/advice.
Up Coming Dates:
Learning and Work Advisors are going to be available (on Facebook) to answer any questions the public may have about finding work, changing careers, CV writing, or training and education, etc. The forward schedule of events runs to the end of April but looking at extending it over the summer. To ask questions of the team on the day of the event people can either write their own post on the discussion page OR comment on one of the posts that the team will be making throughout the event. All of the current dates are from 12 noon till 6pm on Tuesdays, the current pattern is every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month.Its FREE to take part and everyone is welcome: whether you’re looking to make your first steps on the career ladder, facing redundancy or looking to move into more secure employment. We are here to help YOU! (FREE 1 to 1 telephone appointments are also available!)
Wheels To Work -
Struggling to find transport to work or training? Seen a job which you fancy but have no transport to get there?
Based at Silverstone Race Circuit, Wheels to Work Silverstone is a scheme set up to help people get to work, school or college when public transport is difficult. If you live in Leicestershire Wheels to Work Silverstone can provide you with a scooter that may be free for a period of time or with reduced rental payments.
If you don’t qualify for the scheme, you can still hire one of our great 50cc or 125cc scooters. Scooter rental is a cost effective and convenient way to get where you want to go, parking and congestion fees are often a lot less too!

Work.Live.Leicestershire (WiLL) is a local project that supports residents living in North West Leicestershire into employment, volunteering, training and education.
They can offer you:
- A ‘Work Club’ telephone hotline to guide you through the opportunities they offer and support with job searching support
- CV writing and interview coaching
- Tailored on-line training courses which include: social media & job searching, time management, confidence & resilience and many more
- Volunteering and work experience
- 1-2-1 keyworker support
