The National Planning Policy Framework (paragraph 155) states that in the preparation of Local Plans “Early and meaningful engagement and collaboration with neighbourhoods, local organisations and businesses is essential.”

Under Section 18 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 North West Leicestershire District Council is required to produce a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).

The current SCI was adopted in January 2015. Since the publication of the current SCI, we have seen the introduction of The Neighbourhood Planning Act 2017 to legislation (Act).  This introduced a number of requirements which we consider necessitate a review of the SCI.

We are therefore now undertaking a period of consultation on a revised SCI.

Revised SCI Consultation

The Council is seeking your view on the contents of the proposed Revised SCI Consultation - June 2018 (PDF Document, 0.96 Mb). You can download the consultation document which shows as tracked changes all the additions/amendments/deletions to the 2015 version of the SCI that we are proposing.  You can make comments on the revised SCI by either:

•           filling in our online Consultation form; or

•           downloading a MS Word version of the SCI Consultation Form (Word Document, 1.07 Mb)

The closing date for submissions is the end of Tuesday 28 August 2018.
