Self Assessment Forms

We have developed a set of self-assessment forms which will help you to assess whether you require planning permission for your proposed development.

It is important that you answer all questions correctly, as problems can occur if you carry out any work without permission.

If you answer “Yes” to any questions then you will need to submit an application for planning permission.

If you answer “No” to all of the questions, please provide your completed copy of the self-assessment form and submit it to the Local Planning Authority in accordance with the information contained within each of the forms, in order to obtain whether there are any restrictions removing permitted development rights from your property.  We will not check whether you have answered the questions correctly, only to confirm to you whether permitted development rights have been removed from your property.  If you want written confirmation that planning permission is not required you will need to apply for a certificate of lawful proposed development.

Before completing any assessment it is recommended to visit the Planning Portal and use their Interactive house visual guides for simple, step-by-step guidance.
