WINTER WILSON in concert - Moira
The National Forest Folk Club, at our NEW VENUE:
MOIRA VILLAGE HALL, DAYBELL ROAD, MOIRA, NEAR ASHBY DE LA ZOUCH, DE12 6DZ
WE'RE BACK, AND WE ARE NOW READY AND WAITING FOR YOU AT OUR SPARKLY NEW VENUE!
Friday 10th May at 8.00 pm
We are so happy to be able to bring you this wonderful duo to open up our new adventures in folk music in the Moira metropolis.
When Mike Harding dubbed Winter Wilson as one of the hardest working duos on the circuit, he'd clearly done his homework. Kip Winter and Dave Wilson have performed in Germany, Australia, Spain, Canada, Belgium and New Zealand.
They've released a string of critically acclaimed albums, one of the highlights being “Live & Unconventional”. Recorded on tour and at Cropredy Festival with folk rock icons Fairport Convention, the reviews were exceptional:
"If you need evidence of just how special the duo Winter Wilson is, then “Live & Unconventional” delivers in abundance." RnR magazine
"This is a brilliant, exceptionally well-recorded live album that really does convince that Kip and Dave are well and truly at the top of their game." Living Tradition Magazine.
It is in live performance where these two really excel. Kip Winter and Dave Wilson bring a sense of intimacy to every venue, blending superb, often hard-hitting original songs, stunning harmonies and musicianship with sometimes hilarious humour and tales of life on the road.
Kip (vocals, accordion, guitar, flute) "simply has a voice to die for” (Maverick Magazine), whilst Dave (vocals, guitar and banjo) is now rightly recognised as being amongst the top tier of British songwriters, with his songs sung in folk clubs across the UK and beyond.
Together, their voices are sublime. You will laugh; you may cry. You will certainly want to see them again!
Here they are singing just a couple of their songs.

Summer Serenade - Whitwick
This is Broom Leys Choral Society's summer concert and includes John Rutter's Feel the Spirit. We are a four-parts community choir and enjoy singing and performing a wide range of music from popular modern to early classical. Three concerts are planned in a normal year. We rehearse and perform our concerts at Whitwick Methodist Church, Hall Lane, Whitwick LE67 5FD which offers good acoustics and comfortable room for our audiences. The combined talents of Anthony Wilson as MD and Glenn Smith (pianist / Assistant MD) guarantee enjoyable and high quality performances which we have aimed to provide for 50 years. If you come to the concert we hope you will join us afterwards for free drinks and snacks as well as the chance to say 'Hello'!
