Leicestershire Bonsai Club
We are a small, friendly club, meeting monthly to develop our interest in the art of bonsai and to encourage others to become involved in this fascinating pastime.
Our membership consists of all bonsai abilities from beginners through to people with many years experience. We welcome visitors and new members, no matter what their experience level.
The emphasis during our meetings is on practical bonsai techniques including re-potting, pruning, wiring, styling etc. We have regular guest speakers to share their expertise on bonsai matters. We also hold monthly Members Workshops in the Spring to Autumn seasons.
We meet at Whitwick Park Hall, a modern equipped, council-owned community hall with disabled access facilities and a spacious car park immediately in front of the building. Full address details can be found on our website
Meetings start at 6.30pm on the first Tuesday of every month February to November. If you are new to bonsai and starting without a tree to bring, that is ok. First meeting is complimentary and you can come and find out what is needed, or bring one of your trees to a meeting for advice. We welcome all abilities and will be pleased to see you.

The Hound of the Baskervilles – Open Air Theatre 1620's House
by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, adapted by Oliver Gray
Who killed Sir Charles Baskerville? Can anyone prevent the same fate befalling the young Sir Henry Baskerville? Is a monstrous hound really roaming Dartmoor? Why is someone systematically stealing Sir Henry’s shoes? And how does a ghostly hound manage to leave vast paw-prints and other unwelcome evidence of its existence? The original and greatest literary detective of them all, Sherlock Holmes, and his assistant Doctor Watson, tackle the most baffling case of their careers in this faithful, cheeky but chilling adaptation.
Mystery and intrigue reach new heights as the legendary detective duo navigates the treacherous moors and the enigmatic curse that haunts the Baskerville family. From the eerie moonlit landscapes of Dartmoor to cryptic clues, this gripping adaptation promises an irresistible blend of tension and wit.
Performed in the great outdoors by Illyria, prepare for an unforgettable evening of mystery, intrigue and things that go ‘grrrr’ in the night!
