Club Development - Safeguarding

We host a variety of courses here at our council offices in Coalville.

Safeguarding courses

These workshops provide face-to-face learning and are for Coaches, Team Managers, Club Officers, Teachers, or Volunteers.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the foundations of safeguarding, good coaching practice and child protection.
  • Recognise and respond with the appropriate actions to the signs and symptoms of child abuse and poor practice.

Cost £37 per person.

Inclusivity in Sport and Physical Activity Inclusive Club Scheme - Logo

These workshops provide face-to-face learning and are for Coaches, Team Managers, Club Officers, Teachers, or Volunteers who would like to learn more about inclusivity in sport and physical activity. 

1) Focus on 'Autism, Learning Disabilities & Learning Difficulties' in Sport & Physical Activity *(ICS)

This face-to-face workshop will help you to:

  • Share personal experiences and the support needed to help in your setting
  • Develop an understanding of 'autism', 'learning disabilities' and 'learning difficulties'
  • Explore the challenges faced by individuals in accessing sport and physical activity
  • Setting up sessions as integrated or specific provision
  • Making communication effective and tailoring your promotion
  • The opportunities and organisations in sport and physical activity to support you

Cost £15 per person (*free for those booking as part of Inclusive Club Scheme accreditation)

2) Developing your Inclusive Club *(ICS)

This face-to-face workshop will help you to:

  • Developing an inclusive offer and provision in your club
  • How to support coaches, leaders, volunteers to manage difference
  • Embedding inclusion through your club's governance and structure
  • Effective communication throughout your club and promoting your activity to your target audience
  • Building your network and accessing support

Cost £15 per person (*free for those booking as part of Inclusive Club Scheme accreditation)

3) Equality and Diversity in Sport *(ICS)

This workshop provides online learning and is for Coaches, Team Managers, Club Officers, Teachers, or Volunteers who would like to learn more about inclusivity in sport and physical activity. 

The purpose of this course is to help you understand:

  • what equality, diversity and inclusion are
  • what unconscious bias is
  • your role in sport and how this impacts upon inclusion
  • how to promote good practice

Cost £12.50 per person (*free for those booking as part of Incluisve Club Scheme accrediation)
