Retail Radio is a radio network which allows retailers, the police and the CCTV operators to communicate quickly and easily with each other.
The scheme is designed to prevent shop theft - and make shopping in the areas covered an even safer and enjoyable experience.
The radio link is also used to support the night time economy by linking pubs and clubs in Ashby and Coalville with the Police and CCTV control room.
Each member (shop, pub, club etc) has a radio, which is linked to the Retail Radio channel.
This enables them to communicate with each other and pass information to other members.
Our CCTV operators also have a radio base station linked to Retail Radio. They are able to monitor the network and direct a Police response where necessary.
