A Yellow weather warning was in place across much of the country due to Storm Franklin.

Changes to services

Bin collections

At the moment, our bin collections are going ahead as normal. We will update this page and our social media feeds if any waste services are affected by the weather.

Please return bins, boxes and bags to your property as soon as possible after they've been emptied to prevent them blowing away. If your neighbours are out, please consider helping by bringing theirs in too.

Parks, cemeteries and open spaces

All parks, cemeteries and open spaces are open.

Visitors are advised to take care should strong winds develop.

Visiting us

Following wind damage to the roof, the council offices and car park have reopened.

Areas around the building have been secured and it is hoped work on repairs will start at the end of the week.

Access to the car park has been limited to reduce the risk of injury from existing debris, please be aware of vehicles entering and leaving the car park.

Advice for the public

High winds and rainy conditions mean there is a risk of falling debris and localised flooding in our district.

During the storm should also heavily wooded areas with lots of trees.
