Timeline 1.1

The Coalville timeline was displayed on Hotel Street in 2017 and won a highly commended award from the Leicestershire and Rutland Heritage Forum for bringing heritage alive!

Read more about it by clicking this link: Timeline Display Wins Award

The 50-metre timeline revealing the heritage and history of Coalville was unveiled in the town centre in 2017 and attracted alot of interest. The display panels are available here for everyone to enjoy.

The timeline meanders through 200 years of the town’s history, and was installed to coincide with the launch of the Hello Heritage festival which runs for a fortnight across the district every September.

The colourful display stretched along Hotel Street, and is the result of a partnership between North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC), the Coalville Heritage Society, and with kind permission from landowner Motors Coalville Ltd.

There are nineteen panels in all. They are available to view online below.
