When can I come?
Those on the referral scheme can access facilities at any time. We provide an extensive timetable of activities throughout the community for those on the referral scheme. The timetable will be provided to those who are referred onto the scheme. We also work with various leisure centres to provide exercise referral sessions within their fitness suites. These session times are as follows:
Ibstock Leisure Centre - Monday 11.45 - 12.45
Whitwick & Coalville Leisure Centre - Tuesday 12.30 - 1.30 & Thursday 1.30 - 2.30
Ashby Leisure Centre - Wednesday & Friday 2 - 3
Will other members of the public be allowed in to my sessions?
During Exercise Referral sessions there may be other centre users in the session during quiet times.
If you attend a mainstream class or access the fitness suite at any other time all centre users will be allowed access.
Are my sessions delivered by a qualified instructor?
Do you have to pay per session?
You can pay per session / class or via a monthly direct debit.
How much does it cost?
Ashby Leisure Centre & Lido and Whitwick Leisure Centre will provide a concession membership to those who have been referred. This exercise referral membership is £26.24 per month via direct debit and lasts for 6 months before reverting to their normal price structure. Alternatively paying per session is an option and falls in line with current leisure centre prices.
Ibstock Leisure Centre also provide a membership for gym and swimming which is £30 per month.
The classes we provide as part of the exercise referral timetable vary in price dependent on the class but most are around £3 per session.
Do I need to pay a membership fee?
Joining the leisure centres may incur a joining fee but this depends on wether they currently have an offer on.
Do I have to book?
If you choose to use the Fitness Suite then all new users are permitted to undertake an induction, this will be delivered online at Whitwick & Ashby but in person at Ibstock.
Community classes will need to be booked before hand for the initial session so the instructor can assess the referral to ensure suitability, after this booking is not required.
Using the fitness suite after undertaking the induction they are not required to book they can attend at any time. It is always advisable though to attend at the specific sessions provided for exercise referrals though.
It is advisable though not always necessary to reserve places for Aqua Aerobics and any dry-side studio based activity. This will guarantee you your place and also in the event of a cancellation provide us with your contact details so we can inform you.
What if I have a question after I leave the meeting?
Please contact Tom Bodle by telephone on 01530 454 839 or email email@example.com
What happens after 12 weeks?
After 12 weeks you will be invited to attend a 12 week review session where we will carry out a set of simple lifestyle tests including blood pressure and weight which will provide us with statistical analysis of your progression.
We will go over the last 12 weeks and assess its success and the exit routes available to you.
You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions regarding the Exercise Referral Scheme.
