Health and Wellbeing

We're part of the North West Leicestershire Health and Wellbeing Partnership - a network of partners and agencies across the district who aim to improve the health of residents, and all the work we do is underpinned by the North West Leicestershire Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

We support, a programme of events designed to bring healthy choices into local communities.

Why not get fit and stay healthy by running your own allotment? Find out how to get an allotment from us.

Why do we need to increase levels of physical activity?

Part of the role of The North West Leicestershire Health and Wellbeing Team is to improve the health of residents by increasing physical activity opportunities.

The Active Lives survey 2021 highlighted:

  • 29.7% of adults are active for less than 30 minutes per week (that's almost a 3rd of our adults that are not exercising enough).
  • 11.2% are fairly active
  • Only 59% reach the recomended levels of activity to promote good health.

Find out more about the health benefits of being physically active.

If you're interested in becoming more physically active please contact us on:
