Special and Bespoke Collection Service

What can we collect?

Our special and bespoke collection service offers you another alternative to dispose of your waste, whether it be household, garden waste or business waste we can take it.

However we cannot accept asbestos - for advice on the disposal of asbestos please contact Leicestershire County Council on 0116 305 0001.

If you require our service please e-mail our Street Cleaning team at streetcleaning@nwleicestershire.gov.uk asking for a quote. To enable us to quote please provide the following information: name, contact number, address of collection, items for disposal and a photo if possible.

Costs and pricing of collection

For costs and pricing of collections we send a member of staff to your property to see how long and how many staff members are needed to complete the collection, we then produce a quote which we will send to you via email .

If you accept our quote one of our staff members will then contact you to arrange payment and collection date to suit you payments must be made in advance of works.

Payment can be made over the phone by debit or credit card or if you are a business we can invoice you.

We reserve the right to refuse certain items.

Disposal options

You can take items to the household waste and recycling sites at Ashby Road, Coalville, Nottingham Road, Lount and Hathern Road, Shepshed. These sites are run by Leicestershire County Council. Please note you may require a permit if taking a van or trailer to the Household Waste Sites.

Safe and legal disposal

It's always the responsibility of the person creating the waste to make sure it is disposed of in a responsible and legal way.

You should only let approved companies take your waste away. Ask for identification or a telephone number to ring to check their waste transfer licence.

Local household waste sites, our bulky waste service and all the local reuse options are available for safe and legal disposal of scrap metal and electrical goods.

About us

We have a team of 13 to cover the whole of our district working over a seven-day period.

We have two caged vehicles in our fleet that maintain litter bins and litter pick areas within our district, one vehicle that covers our Northern, Southern and Western parishes and another vehicle that covers the Eastern and Central parishes.

We have two large mechanical sweeper that sweep the districts road channels, car parks and other council owned areas. One medium sized sweeper that maintains footways, small cul-de-sacs, turning heads and recreational areas and two mini sweepers that maintain footways in the districts towns centres and villages.

Also we have a 7.5 ton caged vehicle to collect fly tips and litter pick rural areas around our district and for larger fly tips we have our 26 ton lorry mounted crane (HIAB).

We also have two push along barrows to maintain town centres and also provide vehicles and bins for events held within our districts throughout the year.

New to street cleansing we offer a special and bespoke collection service that collects items that aren’t on the bulky waste collection service that is offered by waste services.
