Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) or Drones over residential areas
We may from time to time operate the Councils Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) or Drones over residential or highly populated areas.
For transparency purposes please see notifications of upcoming flights and their locations.
The UAS will never be flown within 50m of a person, vehicle, vessel or structure that is not under the direct control of the person in charge of the aircraft, this is reduced to 30m on take off and landing.
The UAS will never be flown covertly and the land owner will always be made aware prior to flight.
The Council hold an Operational Authorisation from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the flights will be in accordance to our UAV Operations Manual.
