Why do we need to increase physical activity levels across the district?
Part of the role of The North West Leicestershire Health and Wellbeing Team is to improve the health of residents by increasing physical activity opportunities.
The Active Lives survey 2021 highlighted:
- 29.7% of adults are active for less than 30 minutes per week (that's almost a 3rd of our adults that are not exercising enough).
- 11.2% are fairly active
- Only 59% reach the recommended levels of activity to promote good health.
