Men's Mental Health Support

Mental Health can affect anyone of any gender. But men tend to not reach out for the support when they need it. Seeking support for mental health shouldn't be seen as a sign of weakness and you should not feel like you have to suffer in silence.

Local Support in North West Leicestershire: 

VeteransAs long as you have a service history, or association, then you will be made welcome. Once We Were Soldiers, The Royal British Legion, and Hermitage FM Community Cafe, together with North West Leicestershire District Council are all supporting Coalville’s first Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Club.

The Leg Up Project- The Leg Up Project CIC is a social hub with the sole purpose of raising the holistic well-being for all involved. Mental health challenges can be incredibly isolating; which is where the Leg Up Project comes in. The main ethos of The Leg Up Project is to be supportive of all (including yourself), be Honest to yourself and others, have Integrity and above all Take positive action. 

Sands United-Sands United is a unique way for bereaved men to come together through a shared love of sport, find a support network, and feel at ease talking about their grief when they're ready.

Mental Health Matters- Our service helps anyone aged 18+ who is experiencing emotional and mental health problems, as well as their carers, by providing advice, information and support. 

First Step Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland-First Step is an organisation run for male survivors and their supporters of sexual abuse and rape.

ManUp!-A national campaign that brings awareness to men's mental health through their ethos to 'not just brush yourself down & get on with it; these people are here to help'. 

First Contact Plus

First Contact Plus is an online tool which helps adults in Leicestershire find information about a range of services all in one place. The initiative allows residents who require help with one or a number of issues to access a catalogue of information, advice, help and support. Information and resources on housing, health, living independently, money advice, work, security and other topics that assist the county’s residents can be found on this site.
