'Made' Plan
On 16 November 2021 North West Leicestershire District Council 'made' the Hugglescote and Donington le Heath Neighbourhood Plan (PDF Document, 5.98 Mb). It should now be used to help determine planning applications within Hugglescote and Donington le Heath.
As required by the neighbourhood planning regulations, the Hugglescote and Donington le Heath. Neighbourhood Plan – Final Decision Statement (PDF Document, 0.13 Mb) has been published.
A copy of the plan can be viewed at the council offices by appointment. Please contact the Planning Policy team to arrange.
Referendum
The Hugglescote and Donington le Heath Neighbourhood Plan Referendum took place on Thursday 21 October 2021.
The question asked at the referendum was: Do you want North West Leicestershire District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Hugglescote and Donington le Heath to help it decide planning applications in the Neighbourhood Area?

The District Council is now required to make (i.e. adopt) the Neighbourhood Plan within 8 weeks of the Referendum.

Decision Statement
On 9 August 2021 the District Council agreed to proceed to referendum on the draft Hugglescote & Donington le Heath Neighbourhood Plan. As required by the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations the Hugglescote & Donington le Heath Neighbourhood Plan Decision Statement has now been published.

The District Council collated these representations and passed them on to the Independent Examiner. The Independent Examiner will look at the responses received and the Neighbourhood Plan documents to assess whether the Plan meets the Basic Conditions and can proceed to referendum.

Submission Consultation
Hugglescote and Donington le Heath Parish Council has submitted the Hugglescote and Donington le Heath Neighbourhood Plan to the District Council. In accordance with Section 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, we consulted on the plan for six weeks from Friday 12 March to Friday 23 April 2021.

In November 2019, the Parish Council published a pre-submission draft Neighbourhood Plan for a 6 week consultation period ending on 18 December 2019.
Neighbourhood Area Designation
In March 2017, Hugglescote and Donington Le Heath Parish Council applied to North West Leicestershire District Council for designation of a Neighbourhood Plan Area under Part 2 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. This request was granted by the District Council on 7 June 2017. Details of the application can be viewed below:
