'Made' Plan

On 28 April 2022 North West Leicestershire District Council 'made' the Blackfordby Neighbourhood Plan (April 2022) (PDF Document, 3.94 Mb).  It should now be used to help determine planning applications within Blackfordby. 

As required by the neighbourhood planning regulations, the  Blackfordby Neighbourhood Plan - Final Decision Statement (PDF Document, 0.17 Mb)has been published.

A copy of the plan can be viewed at the council offices by appointment.  Please contact the  to arrange. 

Update - April 2022

Referendum

The Blackfordby Neighbourhood Plan Referendum took place on Thursday 7 April 2022.

The question asked at the referendum was: Do you want North West Leicestershire District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Blackfordby to help it decide planning applications in the Neighbourhood Area?

The result was:

Yes - 201

No 24

The District Council is now required to make (i.e. adopt) the Neighbourhood Plan within 8 weeks of the Referendum.

In accordance with The Neighbourhood Planning (Referendums) Regulations 2012, the Referendum Version Neighbourhood Plan and other background documents are available to view below under the February 2022 update.

Update - February 2022

The Examiner completed his report in January 2022.  The Examiner's report concludes that, subject to making proposed modifications, the Neighbourhood Plan should proceed to a Neighbourhood Planning referendum.

On 9 February 2022, the District Council, agreed to proceed to referendum on the draft Blackfordby Neighbourhood Plan.  As required by the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations the Blackfordby Neighbourhood Plan Decision Statement can be viewed below:

Submission Consultation

The submission consultation for the Blackfordby Neighbourhood Plan ran for six weeks from Friday 27 August 2021 to Friday 8 October 2021.

During the Submission consultation a total of 15 representations were received including the District Council's own comments.

An Examiner (Andrew Freeman BSc(Hons) DipTP DipEM FRTPI) has been appointed to examine the Neighbourhood Plan. 

The Examiner wrote to the district council and Ashby Town Council on 15 November 2021 with a number of queries. The councils responded on 29 November 2021. Pre-Submission Consultation

In May 2019, the Town Council published a pre-submission draft Neighbourhood Plan for a 6 week consultation period starting on 13 May 2019.

Neighbourhood area Designation

North West Leicestershire District Council has now approved an application from Ashby de la Zouch Town Council to designate the Blackfordby Neighbourhood Plan Area under Part 2 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. You can view details of the Council's decision.
